Most are benign: People often detect lymph nodes in the neck because they are not buried in fat or muscles like elsewhere in the body. They are usually at pea sized at rest & double or triple in size in response to simple things like skin irritation, bug bites or even minor infection. They can become walnut sized/infected & require drainage. I've seen a few in 4 decades. The location does not suggest bad stuff.
