Yes: Irregular 'break through' bleeding is common with the mini pill or any contraceptive pill in the first 3 to 6 months. Bleeding is bothersome but usually improve with continuation of the pill. It should be taken the same time everyday. If you stop the pill you will have a 'withdrawal' bleed. However, the likelihood of pregnancy increases if you discontinue the pill.
