Clinical diagnosis: Hernias are diagnosed by physical examination. Any type of imaging, whether ultrasound, ct scan, or MRI is unreliable and often will not detect a hernia unless there is something stuck in it (i.e., "incarcerated"). So you may still have a hernia despite the ultrasound being negative. If you are concerned with a hernia, consult a board certified general surgeon.
