A member asked:

My 9am cortisol was tested as low at 167.000 nmol/l (range: 166 - 507). then referred to endo who said it wasnt low enough despite me having symptoms. my cortisol is always on the cusp of the lab range, often a few below. is it true not low enough?

Keep Looking: A “low normal” AM cortisol is not specific. Further testing would be needed to confirm diagnosis such as ACTH level or insulin-stimulation test. If you have symptoms, keep looking for an explanation.
