A member asked:

If someone touches surface having germs of hepatitis b or c (tiny blood), is washing hands with soap is enought?i mean to washing with soap will kill hep b or c germs on hands?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: unless you had an open wound on your hand. Just wash with soap and water, do it for 30 seconds, do a thorough job. You do not need anti bacterial soap ( it's a virus ). You are not killing the virus, you are washing it off of your skin. your skin is a barrier to the virus. This is Why Hep B and C are only transmitted through needles, transfusions, or sexual contact.
