Icing/evaluation : Swelling is a part the inflammatory process and with broken bone(s), this can continue. Your primary care physician can evaluate your condition. General measures to reducing swelling can help along with avoiding pressure over the area (standing/walking etc). If it persistent and pain/trouble walking, then an evaluation by your doctor would be needed.

Seek medical eval: If 1st metatarsal is the broken bone a more aggressive approach is required. Continue to weight bearing could cause displacement of the first metatarsal. After the bone heals weight distribution will than be a concern. Pathology could than present itself with capsulitis, stress fracture or worse to 2nd metatarsal. If fragments are displaced surgery would need to be considered Podiatrist/ortho
