What is the best thing to take to get rid of mucus/phlegm with a sensitive stomach (really bad ibs)? just recovered from urti and have chronic allergies. also when i clear my throat from phlegm, i sometimes get a bloody taste (on strong antacid).

Several choices: If you have a lot of post nasal drainage from the allergies, a steroid nasal spray (fluticasone) can be very helpful & would likely not bother stomach. Antihistamines (loratidine, etc) also help & are usually well tolerated. If these don’t work you could ask your Dr about montelukast, a prescription medication that works well for many patients & is well tolerated
