Tremor causes: Include: medications, essential tremor, medical conditions like hyperthyroidism, degenerative neurological conditions - of which Parkinson’s is one. Many conditions are inherited but not autosomal dominant. If one parent has it does not mean you will inherit it too but you may have increased risk.

Several causes: Parkinson’s tremors/shaking usually on one side of body/in one hand, rather than both equally. There can be a genetic component to Parkinson’s but also for essential tremor (which usually affects both hands not one). If you have had tremors for long time without other symptoms it would make Parkinsons less likely but a good neurologist can evaluate thoroughly. Essential tremors can be Tx’d
