Lipitor is the brand name for atorvastatin so if you've been taking both simultaneously you're being overdosed. Notify your physician of this. You should have blood work ASAP to look for side effects of liver and/or muscle inflammation. Other blood work such as a cbc & diff, a metabolic panel & urinalysis is also advisable.

Lipitor and atorvastatin are one and the same drug. Talk to your prescriber, you can safely stop one, there are many other statins available to trial, your current prescriber would be best to coordinate.
