Testing/Check Temp: If he can produce a sputum sample for testing, this may be ordered by your PCP. Oral steroids for a short course helps to decrease inflammation in the lung. The illness may have been viral, and antibiotics will not treat viral illnesses. The cough may be related to uncontrolled asthma or another infection. Treat nasal congestion with saline/mist and a decongestant.Please have an evaluation.
