COVID Immunity: You certainly can gain immunity after infection. Some patients recovered after convalescent plasma transfusion, suggesting presence of neutralizing antibodies. However, nobody knows at this point whether such an immunity is permanent or short-lived. 30% recovered patients actually have only low level of antibodies to COVID. Therefore, re-infection may be possible or remains to be seen.
