My 10 year old son has had sore throat for 5 days and been coughing incessantly for the past 3. he woke up late (11am instead of normal 7 to 8am), feels tired and has diminished appetite. he is currently taking acuzyrt, tussilinct and flusin syrups.

Temperature: Please provide fluids, monitor his temperature, and if there is a fever or shortness of breath, please call your physician. Avoid exposure to dust, mold, animal dander and smoke. If he has a history of allergies, continue his usual allergy medication, otherwise discontinue the allergy medication. Please follow up and he may need an inhaler and/or steroids to treat his cough.
