Gargling Won't Help: The COVID-19 virus is a respiratory virus but can have a sore throat associated with it. Gargling is generally useful for removing dried mucous, bacterial deposits, food particles and to alleviate irritation or pain associated with illness or injury. Unfortunately, gargling is never a preventive strategy and will NOT affect the clinical course of infection. It is only intended to help symptoms.
