A member asked:

What are the results of an hiv male with undetectable viral load for over 20 years donanting sperm to someone wishing to conceive. mom n child at risk?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Although the risk is remarkably reduced in an individual who has had a negative viral load as a result of effective therapy it does not eliminate the risk of infection. The test does not entirely cover small amounts of viral rna, and therefore the virus is still transmissable. My advice would be to find another sperm donor.
