Can i use dental wax as a temporary filling (after brushing/flossing/mouthwash) until my dentist is able to extract my tooth? the cavity is in my wisdom tooth. the nerve is not exposed but it is quite deep. my appointment is 3wks away?

Wait long?: I assume you are asking is it OK t6o wait 3 weeks. A hole in a tooth is an infection, filled with bacteria. Dental wax will not stop damage from the bacteria, with the possibility of the tooth becoming abscessed and the infection spreading to other organ systems. Rather than risking the discomfort of an abscess, and the bacterial spread, the alternative is to see an Oral Surgeon for prompt care.

Not a good idea: The problem is that you might swallow or aspirate the wax in your sleep. If it is not bothersome, keep it clean until the removal date and try to remove the date forward if possible.
