A member asked:

I am a 40 year old female and getting aura followed by severe onesided headache and neck pain. my doctor gave sumatriptin for headache. how can this problem be treated. i also have blood pressure. is there a way to treat this. please advice.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sumatriptan at onset: You are describing typical migraine attacks which can be aborted (stopped at onset) by sumatriptan if taken at onset of the migraine attack. If you have intolerable side effects from the sumatriptan there are alternatives. Hypertension (high blood pressure) is not a contra-indication to using migraine medications.
