Should wait: If you are recovering after an infection, you may be on antibiotics as well. Ideally, one should let the body recover from such attacks such as tonsillitis. Too strenouus of a workout can suppress your immune system, and cause a relapse.

Fever = caution flag: Your body creates fever as both a barrier to germ growth & an effort to increase blood flow & oxygen for healing. A strenuous workout would interfere with an already taxed system & could predispose u to heat related illness(heat stroke). As much as u want to keep up with your workouts, caution is appropriate. I'd suggest a light wo, regular self checks of body temp & stop if temp increases >99.5.
