I have been taking ciprofloxacin 500mg for the last 3 days. the pharmacist said i should take 1 a day but i noticed that on the box it says take 1 tablet 12 hourly that means 2 a day. do i increase the dose or continue to take 1 a day?

Generally..: this drug is given twice a day and generally one follows the advice on the bottle. HOWEVER, cannot say in your particular case, but generally, this is true unless there are other medicines or conditions. CIPRO happens to interact with the liver and other drugs that go thru the liver such as seizure, heart, methadone, and HIV medicines. If it is the only drug and no liver issues, it's usually 2x.
