COVID concerns: Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) can cause inflammation of the entire lung and can carry a high fatality rate. Pneumonia can also be serious but still allows for perfusion and is usually not as difficult to treat.

More severe disease: ARDS reflects wide spread damage to the oxygen exchange function of both lungs. Pneumonia is generally focal. Covid-19: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html Wear a mask, stay away from others, practice hand hygiene. Wish you good health!
