Not needed: Because of the extraordinary efforts of people, quarantining and wearing masks, there is no place currently in the US that is experiencing the need for such measures. The current hospital system in all these cities, even New York has not needed to use the hospital ships that have been provided by the military for Covid cases. In CA and NY they have been intended only for non covid patients.

Possibly: The Hospital ship Comfort opened up to COVID 19 patients and treated 182 patients. REF: https://news.usni.org/2020/04/27/hospital-ship-comfort-ends-nyc-covid-19-mission-after-treating-182-patients, Cruise ships were brought up as a possibly contingency plan for holding patients but was never needed.
