Unrelated: Acute or chronic bronchitis seldom causes a fever. If you have a severe bronchitis and then develop a fever, your doctor will need to evaluate you a second time to see if the bronchitis has progress to pneumonia. This can be determined in a clinical exam or in some instances may require a chest x-ray.
