Information: There is no specific time interval. Most skin cancers oreseent as something like a pimple or a small are of redness or itching. Early on it may not look like much pf anything. Generally any new spot , bleeding spot, local itching area that does not resolve in three to six weeks should be evaluated and perhaps biopsied.

Sunburn : A sunburn could mask the detection of some forms of skin cancer. In a few days the redness from the burn will subside making evaluation by a dermatologist easier.
