Pingueculum is an area of degeneration in the conjunctiva, the outer covering of the eye, caused by the suns uv light.Usually located nasally. No treatment is usually indicated. Computer use is not a cause. Age not a factor. It is permanent and benign.Occasionally if it enlarges or if blood vessels occur(a pterygium) local surgery may be necessary.
