A member asked:

What is a better treatment for age-related macular degeneration, avastin or lucentis (ranibizumab)? what of these treatments is cheaper?

Equivalent: Currently they seem equivalent although an nih study currently in progress can answer if one is better than the other. Avastin (bevacizumab) is considerably cheaper although the cost may be disguised by insurance coverage. You can trust your retinal surgeon to do the best thing.
