Dehydration.: I am not sure what you mean by "degeneration in the bones". (That's usually osteoporosis and you are too young for that. If so, you may have an genetic or inborn problem with Vitamin D metabolism or calcium causing it). Most degenerative disks are due to dehydration & "wear and tear" from overuse (occupation, carrying heavy bags, etc.) Drinking 20 oz fluids per day can only help shrink the disks.
