A member asked:

My 3 years old has a fever of 38.6 and her eyes are watering?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

More info: Fever of unknown origin (without any other symptoms and without other medical history) is very difficult to diagnose. If the child is looking well, and this is the first day of illness, it may be worth trying to give some anti inflammatory (paracetamol or ibuprofen) and waiting for a change. If the child is tired, not eating, pale, short of breath then seek a physician.
