Two month old's has something that looks like dried up pus from his left ear, what could be the cause?

Wax/pus: Sometimes if a bit of shampoo enters the ear canal it will alter the appearance of earwax to a gritty pus like material. A 2 month old can get a middle ear infection but it is quite rare. I would tease away the material with a wet earbud & monitor the site. If it continues to build up have the kid examined.
