A member asked:

My platelets range from 140,000-200,000 my pt and inr is normal. but i still notice a lot of bleeding, petechiae, blood blisters in my mouth, and discoloration around eyes that looks like bruising. how could that be? what other test should i take.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Allergic Purpura: Since the platelets and the coagulation factors in your case may be within normal limits, the remaining cause for capillary bleeding is most likely related to weak capillary walls due to inflammation (hypersensitivity vasculitis) or Henoch-Shonlein purpura. Check back with a hematologist
