COVID -19: The name of the virus that causes Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This is considered to be a "novel" coronavirus because humans have not had reported illnesses from it before. Some people have called it "Wuhan Coronavirus" as it appears to have originated in Wuhan, China. That is not a medical term.

Good morning doctors. Two questions. 1..if doctors can determine if someone has covid, why can't they use that information to stop it? 2..why is covid19 "staying around" longer than did previous viruses, like SARS, H1N1...why can't it end like these?
