COVID 19: SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes the COVID 19 disease. The disease is more contagious than many past outbreaks (like SARS-CoV - the 2003 Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, or Ebola). Unlike outbreaks with more common human Coronaviruses, this has significant death rate attached.
