Gastroenteritis: A viral gastrointestinal tract infection was likely and postviral fatigue often lingers for another weak or so. If excessive fatigue persists longer than that, I recommend seeing your physician for evaluation and blood tests to include a hepatitis panel and infectious mononucleosis test.
