Is it okay if i stop taking my vit d and ferritin, my current lab results are: ferritin =38.6 ng/ml vit d=17.9 ng/ml i used to take them for my hair not for a medical condition.

Yes and no: You probably meant that you’re taking an iron supplement, and with that ferritin level you probably have sufficient iron stores and could stop supplementation. For your Vitamin D you want a blood level of at least 40 (optimal around 60). You are deficient at 17. Keep taking the supplement and consider increasing the dose.

Agree with Dr. R: Take at least 2000 units of vitamin D3 daily for 3-6 months before retesting.
