COVID-19: Fever of 104 always needs immediate medical attention. Presumably the student's parents are aware and he is seeing a doctor, who in consultation with the health department will decide if he meets criteria for testing for the COVID-19 coronavirus. It sounds like he might. If he tests positive, health dept will determine whether you or any other contacts should also be tested. Good luck!

Screen: An evaluation and ruling out influenza and coronavirus is advised. If there are respiratory symptoms, a chest x-ray may be ordered. He should stay at home, drink fluids and rest. Re autoimmune disease, screening labs, suggest a virtual consultation.
