Urine culture: The sensitivity component of a urine culture determines whether a particular antibiotic would be effective(the bacteria is sensitive) or ineffective(the bacteria would be resistant). Therefore in your example, the causative bacteria are resistant to ciprofloxacin and thus you wouldn't prescribe ciprofloxacin.
