Doctor can examine: Swollen glands (lymph nodes) in the head and neck of a young adult are most commonly from some infection such as a cold, the seasonal flu, a sinus infection, scalp or skin infections, etc... Those conditions cause inflammation can cause swollen lymph nodes in and around the neck. Of course, it's possible that the swollen glands are due to other reasons, too. One's primary care doctor can help.
