Doctor can evaluate: Chest tightness or chest pain in a teen can be due to minor problems or to very serious ones. An emergency room doctor can check to see what might be going on. Sometimes, tests and chest x-rays will be done. Possible causes include costochondritis, partial pneumothorax (collapsed lung), pleuritis, myocarditis, acid reflux, heart arrythmias, etc... Heart attacks almost never happen in teens.
