Not very likely: It's not very likely that chest wall pains are related to heart disease in younger people. It it not impossible, and there is no harm in checking with the doctor. Pain in the muscles of the chest wall is fairly common, especially in younger people. If your breathing is also affected, it may have something to do with the blood vessels too. Does the pain worsen with breathing or chest movement?

Unlikely BUT: More likely mechanical chest pain such as vague things we refer to as costochondritis, chest muscle strain, and of course, the old standby: Anxiety. If your family history is positive for heart disease and you are overweight, diabetic, smoker, poorly conditioned, and haven't seen a doc in awhile then, a checkup would be wise just to get a set of hands and some electrodes on you for a look-see.
