Posibilities: Your large intestines pass upwards from the area of the appendix crossing under the ribs before it drops down to exit at the anus. An upright person tends to accumulate excess gas, especially on the left side when their diet leads to gas. Just like bubbles in a pond, the gas goes upward. A food diary may help you decide which foods make you gassy so you can avoid them.Probiotics may also help.
