A member asked:

Had gallbladder removed. likely now have bile reflux. wake up nightly at 3am with stomach pain/gas. ideas for other meds to take before bed to fix?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Changing timing help: Bile reflux into the stomach is reported in a rate of 30%-100% after stomach surgery and 80%-90% after gallbladder surgery. The treatment for bile reflux is the same as the treatment for acidic reflux. Prokinectic drugs by inreasing gastric motility and Baclofen by reducing TLESR helps. Combination of PPI with Prokinetic ( such as Domperidone) is also more helpful.
