My 18 yr daughter has a persistent cough now for around 2 wks, dry during the day and wet cough (with mucus that she throws up) when she lies down at night. it keeps her awake at night. no other symptoms. medicine to suppress cough & dry mucus?

Possibilities: The origin of this cough could vary from poorly controlled asthma to some infectious process including whooping cough. Without more information, exam & testing there is little chance to be more specific. If she is loosing sleep over this she should be seen.

From your description, post nasal drip may be one cause. If she has thick nasal drainage and sinus tenderness, please see your pediatrician.
