Diabetes/red meat: Diabetes is caused by either a lack of insulin from the pancreas or a lack of sensitivity of the tissues to secreting insulin when elevated glucose levels are present in the blood stream. Red meat ingestion does not cause Diabetes mellitus.

No: Diabetes is a multifactorial disease. Red meat is a good and important source of protein, iron and many other important elements to be healthy. However moderation is a key; it is recommended not take more than three portions per week, it means less than 500 g of cooked meat per week. It is recommended to avoid processed meat.
