A member asked:

Im getting the bubble test on my heart and im scared. has anyone died from this scan? i thought bubbles in your iv are dangerous. please help me calm down.

Stay calm, but...: Life is about balance. There is risk and benefit to everything you do, and to everything you don't do. Such is life. There is a very small chance of getting a brain stroke from an echocardiographic bubble study. That is why a patient gets to talk with her cardiologist to decide if the test (which can diagnosis something important that alters her treatment) has benefit and is worth doing.
