A member asked:

My heart skips a beat every 30 seconds, pauses and changes rythm and i feel a bubble of air sensation in my stomach when that happens. how dangerous this is? i started levothyroxine yesterday can the medication make symptoms worse?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The symptoms you describe(skips) are consistent with premature beats in your heart rhythm, and as such may not be indicative of a problem. However, it is possible that it may be related to levothyroxine, and adjustment in the dose may be necessary. I suggest that you discuss this fully with your doctor. If the skips are frequent ,an ECG in the office may confirm this. Please follow up with doct
