A 24-year-old female asked:

is toilet paper toxic?

1 doctor answer2 doctors weighed in
Dr. Robert Kwok
Pediatrics 33 years experience
Good and Bad: There's good and bad to everything in life. Everything can be toxic under certain circumstances, but everything gets viewed through the eyes of risks vs. benefits. Normal, typical use of toilet paper has no unusual toxicity. Lots of benefits. What would you use instead of toilet paper? Would the alternative be more toxic? Would the alternative lead to many more poop-transmitted infections?

Is there a school where I can send my son to toilet train him?

Dr. James Ferguson
Pediatrics 46 years experience
Never heard of any: Of the many frustrating jobs of parents, toilet training leads the list. I have know some day care centers that would assist parents & follow their approach to training. However, the responsibility falls upon the parents, aided by suggestions from their pediatrician.A variety off publications describe several approaches & you should be able to find one that fits your needs.

Unpleasant question about going to toilet? Do all bms smell like cattle if vegan?

Dr. Ed Friedlander
Pathology 44 years experience
Least of ur worries: About four percent of incoming medical students profess to be vegetarians; almost none are by the time of graduation -- they realize they were deceived. The dangers of both a vegetarian and a strict vegan diet are as great as, though different from, the junk-food obesogenic diet; both ruin people's health. If you must be a vegetarian, get scientific help on the supplements, and good luck.
A 37-year-old member asked:

Can you catch aids from public toilet?

2 doctor answers3 doctors weighed in
Dr. Joram Seggev
Specializes in Allergy and Immunology
Unlikely: It is not impossible, but is very unlikely that you will catch anything from a toilet. Most people who claim that they were infected with an STI in a restroom say so to avoid telling the true cause (having had sex).
