Doctor can evaluate: What we typically call junk food doesn't cause any heart symptoms before, during, or after meals, when compared to any other typical foods we eat. The only exception would be foods or drinks with high levels of caffeine, which can cause palpitations or fast heart rates. Thus, one's primary care doctor can evaluate to find out what the palpitations are, and what might be leading to them.

Junk Food: In general, junk food contains lots of sugar, salt, and chemicals. Your body is likely reacting to that. Please continue to have your doc follow you and avoid junk food. A licensed nutritionist can help you find good alternatives for snacking. Peace and good health.
