NGU. Adenovirus?: You have (or had) nongonococcal urethritis. Chlamydia causes 30% of NGU, but STD testing usually is negative. Transient NGU improving without treatment could be due to a virus acquired by oral sex. Adenovirus is a cold virus sometimes transmitted to the urethra, causing NGU. Did you also have a cold or conjunctivitis (pink eye)? Herpes also possible, although unlikely without penile blisters/sores
