Is everybody in the us vulnerable to the novel coronavirus, or are some of us immune because we unknowingly caught other coronaviruses in the past?

Unknown : Good question, but the answer is unknown. In any case, other coronaviruses are not very common, so not very many people would be immune for that reason.

Maybe not: NEW coronaviruses are viruses that infected animals and then jumped over to include humans as their victims. Haven't heard any reports of humans who caught existing human coronaviruses becoming immune to new coronaviruses. The 4 existing human coronaviruses that cause us mild illnesses such as the common cold are: 229E, NL63, OC43, and HKU1. The 3 new coronaviruses are SARS, MERS, and 2019-nCoV.
