Hi, i have this pain at the corner of my left eye. i've only tried eye drops. my eye is not itchy, it's just very painful. there's a minimal swell if you look close enough. what could it be? what can i use to ease and prevent it from happening again?

Hard to know: The structures/tissues in and around the eye are very sensitive. Without a direct exam it is hard to know if this could be a retained foreign body, a scratch or a sore. If the pain persists after a generous attempt to flush the area with drops, I would have it examined.
