Stool changes: Changes in stool color or consistency are common and can vary with diet, water intake and stress. If there is blood or fever, infections may also be of consideration. Black, tarry stools also warrant a call to your doctor. Otherwise, increasing dietary fiber and adequate water intake may help normalize most stools.
