A member asked:

Sinus pain to cheekbone. no drainage from nose, just stuffy. is it considered sinusitis? (no fever, had a cold a week ago)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sinus infection ?'s: Sinus pain referred to the "cheekbone" comes mostly from inflammation in the maxillary sinuses. This may start as a viral illness ("cold") or even allergy, but thick mucus may block drainage, and cause a bacterial sinusitis . See an ENT specialist . Quinlone antibiotics can be helpful if a bacterial origin.
